Jump ahead to:
What do you need to set up your daily Makeup routine?
- Mirror,
- Lighting,
- A space in your house,
- A (vanity) table or a shelf,
- Products,
- Brushes.
- Small beauty bag that fits in your purse for your touch up’s.
1. Mirror
Obviously, you need a mirror, however, I don’t recommend doing your makeup solely in the mirror of your palette, have a big mirror mounted on your wall, for a bigger view of your makeup, use the palette mirror to zoom in doing your eyes for example.
2. Lighting
You can’t do good makeup using poor lighting, you can literally turn out looking like a clown stepping into daylight with makeup applied in a dark bathroom mirror, believe me, it happens a lot, it is a common mistake.
Have lights on both sides of the mirror.
Clip-on lights work well for this or have Hollywood lights mounted on the sides of your mirror, this will make the difference, I can’t tell you enough.
I have two of these Ikea spotlights in my makeup kit.
This is a very good option.
3. A space in your House
Have a little space in your house, of course, this could be a big vanity table if you have the space, but a spot in the hallway works well too.
The bathroom will do fine whenever you are well-lit in there. Make your own little wonderful beauty spot in your house, sitting or standing whichever one you prefer.
This floating shelf with little drawers would absolutely be perfect if you don’t have a lot of space.
Mount a mirror on the wall and lights on the side and you’re golden.
With a little more space you could have a small desk like this, add a mirror and lights, and you are good to go.
This is a very good option vanity table, where the mirror is not too high while you’re sitting down.
Don’t we all love a pretty little spot like this in our house for our makeup?
4. A table
A vanity table, side table, regular table anything will do, if you don’t have space, have a shelf on your wall.
This is so you can lay out your products ready for you to use, you will be using them every day, no use in stuffing them away in the drawer every single time.
This will save you time, for quick and easy access.
5. Products
Products, of course, we would like to have a big personal collection, no woman would mind that.
However, what are the essentials you need for a daily routine, or what if you are starting from scratch?
Here you’ll find very good options for high-end and budget buys.
High-quality Moisturizer Tatcha’s the Dewy Cream.
A good Moisturizer if you are on a budget is Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion.
Moisturizer, keep your skin moist, good skin starts with good care, read DIY Skin Care and 10 Steps to Clearer Skin too.
This may be the most popular primer out there Tatcha’s The Silk Canvas.
This may be the most popular budget primer e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer.
Primer, you could use a primer, but this is not necessary.
Beautifull Liquid Foundation that looks good on your dressing table too. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation.
My all-time favorite foundation I keep getting back to Waterweight.
Foundation, you will be needing foundation, even if you have flawless skin, you always have those days your skin is having a bad day.
Read HERE everything there is to know about foundation. My favorite is Waterweight of Mac Cosmetics.

A really good concealer Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.
A great budget option Kiko Milano Skin Tone Concealer.
Concealer, if bad days turn into sleepless night skin, you will be needing some concealer girl, thank me later.
I consider concealer part of your foundation, read HERE about foundation and concealer.
I have all shades of this blot powder in my kit.
Blotpowder, for your T-Zone, I use the blot powder of Mac Cosmetics.
This wonderful Blush Palette of Nars. Narsissist Cheek Palette.
A great budget option Kiko Velvet Touch Cream Blush Stick.
Blush, powder, or creme both work well.
Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand
I like this Highlighter a lot. Hyper Real Glow Mac Cosmetics.
Highlighter, Hyper Real Glow of Mac is great, I use it on my job.
Eyeshadow, I would recommend this palette to anyone: Tartelette
In Bloom Clay, because it has a good range of dark and light colors, matt and shimmer, and it is arranged in coordinating rows for 3 easy looks, just perfect.
Both these pallets are my favorite on set.
Kiko Milano Intense Colour Long Lasting Eyeliner 16 Intense and smooth-gliding outer eye pencil with long wear.
Kohl pencil, putting eyeliner on with an eyeliner brush can be challenging when starting out, use a kohl pencil or a liquid liner with a sharp applicator, take a weekend day to practice, you will get the hang of it.
Maybelline Sky High Washable Mascara.
Mascara, of your choice.
Urban Decay All Nighter Ultra Matte Setting Spray.
Setting spray, you could use a setting spray, but this is not necessary.
Tatcha The Deep Cleanse: Non-irritating Daily Gel Cleanser to Hydrate, Exfoliate, and Tighten Pores.
Cleaning wipes or makeup remover, it is very important to take off your makeup every day, if you want to have good skin, or keep your good skin, wash off your makeup every day.
6. Brushes
Brushes. As you could have read in my post about Foundation, I recommend applying it with your hands, so you won’t be needing foundation brushes.
A powder brush for your blot-powder will come in handy. You can use the concealer applicator and your fingers to conceal, or a brush like THIS but you can find them in different price ranges too.
If you use a powder blush, use a blush brush, creme blush applies well with your fingers. THIS is a nice powder contour brush, you could have a second one for highlighter.
With lips just use it straight from the packaging, because you are the only person using it. More blog posts about brushes coming soon, stay tuned.
7. Small Beauty Bag
Small beauty bag that fits in your purse for your touch up’s, like THIS, for going outdoors.
You need to bring a blot powder to touch up the T-zone during the day or evening, the sponge that comes in the package will do perfectly fine. Your lipstick or gloss.
If you used kohl in the inner rim of your eye, you need to bring the kohl pencil to touch it up. Or better yet, have doubles, one at home, one in your bag.
All your other makeup should stay alright all day, especially when you used a primer and a setting spray.
In this post, you learned all about setting up the best Makeup Routine you could have. Follow these steps and you will see how fast you could do your makeup. Cheers Mamacitas.
