Hi Amiga, are you considering Microblading, and are you looking for information about it?
I’m your girl, I had my eyebrows Microbladed back in 2018.
You will find all info plus pros and cons about Microblading here in this post.
For the ones that decide not to have Microblading, I will tell you how you can Faux Mircoblade with Makeup. Let me dive into it.

Microblading
For those who don’t know what Microblading is, it is a semi-permanent technique of Eyebrow Drawing. With a sharp blade, cuts are made in the skin, where pigments are added in.
I specifically wanted this technique because I really like the realistic look of the hairs drawn into the skin. Whereas powder brows basically create a whole brow shape on your skin.
I also specifically wanted Microblade by Phi Brows. This is an Academy that teaches Artists and they have their own brand for the supplies (ink, blades, etc).
So I searched for an Artist in my area www.phistudio.nl. I do recommend doing your research when it comes to finding the right Artist for you in your area.
With Instagram, you can follow the artist for a bit to see how active they are and what they are making on a regular basis.
Pros and Cons
Let me start off with the first question you most probably have: Does it hurt? YES, it does hurt, I am sorry I can’t say it didn’t.
However, it only started to hurt in the first hour of the treatment, which in my case was without sedation. At this point, they will add the sedation creme and the pain goes away.
I was told the skin texture changes a bit because of the sedation creme and that it is beneficial for the results to start off without sedation.
Another thing I really thought was unpleasant was the sound of the carving in the skin, haha I know this sounds terrible and might set you back, but it is the honest truth.
I did lay there and thought what the hell am I doing to myself.
A big con could be the price, I paid $416 which is pretty expensive.
Pros are most definitely the results, in my case the artist had to create half of the brow that was non-existing. I don’t have big natural brow, very thin, and not a lot of hair growth.
I didn’t draw any brows with a brow product ever since. Recently the color of the ink is fading, which is about right, my salon told me you would have to redo it after 3 years.
Can’t get enough of “brow content” maybe you will like these posts too:
The treatment and after care
My treatment was about 3 hours, as been said it did hurt one hour into the treatment, after that, I got sedated.
The aftercare is really really important, follow instructions from your salon very strictly, it will contribute to the result. Basically, you need to apply a cream to your brows a few times a day and keep it clean.
Apparently, I was lucky with the ink remaining in the skin very well, this is because of how well taken care of and your skin type.
I only needed a second treatment after 5 weeks and I have to say, it seemed to hurt more the second time, she said because it is sensitive from the first time 5 weeks prior.
Conclusion
Although I know a lot of colleagues who disagree with me, I do recommend Microblading done by a good artist.
But I am talking about a very first time Microblading. Me, myself, I wouldn’t do it a second time, because the results will be totally different with my “old” microblading underneath.
I wonder if it will give me the results I am after, I now would consider powder brow more. However, even though my ink is fading, I am still happy with how they are right now.
I don’t wear makeup every day, also not to work (maybe shocking for some) but on special occasions when I do my makeup I will just touch my brows up a bit with a brow product.
The faded ink on my no-makeup face suits pretty well for my linking.
Faux Microblading
Maybe this seems daunting, but it is, however, pretty simple.
Use Soap Brows, or Freeze Brows, take a good brush, maybe even an eyeliner brush and draw hairs in the shape you want with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brows or a gel liner like the one from Stilazzi.
Practice makes Perfect.
This post was all about (faux) Microblading. Cheers Mamacitas.
